I have seen my love language in action over the course of my ex-relationship. I constantly was wanting reassurance and words of affirmation.  A large part of that was because he didn’t give me any reassurance. I think as I am growing older, quality time is now becoming my love language. Having a long-distance relationship, I value the time I do get to spend with my partner more than in the past.
